Hi Ya’ll and welcome 🙂 I’m Lindsay and I’m from the suburbs of Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love, the home of the prince of Bel Air, where you can find the best cheesesteak and let’s not forget, the 2018 superbowl champions- Go Eagles!
Here you will find a little bit of everything between fitness tips, wellness, travel destinations, recipes, and some of my local travels. Below I give you a little bit of background on how my fitness and travel journey got started and where I’ve been thus far if you are interested. My hope is that I can inspire others with travel, and make living a healthy lifestyle a bit easier. I have learned throughout the years over trial and error when it comes to travel and healthy living. I am always evolving and learning in both areas and will be sure to update ya’ll as I do 🙂
I love to travel and when I am not traveling, I like to check out new places nearby whether it be a new farmers market, restaurant, axe throwing spot, pop-up beer garden, etc! I am into keeping a healthy lifestyle as well so I will incorporate that here as well. I love to run and ran my first half marathon during quarantine in May. I also like to eat healthy but it has to taste good and keep me full so I’ll also post healthy but bangin’ recipes that I make along the way 🙂 I enjoy an occasional cocktail or two so i’ll post my favorite healthier versions of those as I come across them- you need some balance and it has been one heck of a year so cheers to that.
Travel Background: I grew up travelling as a kid with my parents on their business trips and since then, I’ve always had a love for it. We used to roadtrip to Florida multiple times a year among other road trips across the USA. Throughout the years travel has landed me on the David Letterman show, touring the Busch’s mansion in St. Louis, meeting Cole Swindell, and Chris Kirpatrick from Nsync, cruises, road trips, mountain trips, to the top of the CN tower (tallest structure in the Western hemisphere), trips where all I do is sip on cocktails on a beach, and trips where I’m hiking mountains, atv’ing and horseback riding up the side of a mountain (something i think i’ll pass on next time thanks to a “spirited horse” named Cocoa). I am always open to a new adventure and rarely say no to a new opportunity to explore something new. I’ll share my bloopers and funny stories here because who doesn’t love a good blooper reel?
Fitness/healthy living background: When I turned 21, I quickly realized that malibu bay breezes, lack of sleep, and fast food equaled weight gain. I never had an issue with weight before so I was determined to lose the extra lbs. My fitness journey has been a learning experience and in the early phase it consisted of buying 100 calorie pack cheez-its and going for runs. I really had no clue what I was doing but it did help me to lose the extra few lbs I put on. I have never been really overweight but i’ve always been petite and prefer to keep an athletic build so it was a goal I set for myself. Plus being 5 foot, even a few lbs, made a difference to me. I’ve come a long way since cheez it and cookie 100 calorie packs and while I do miss them, I have found a healthier way to maintain a healthy weight and strong body. I now focus on quality of food, minimally processed, local meats from nearby farms, and cutting out refined carbs from my diet. I do love the occasional piece of cake, ice cream, nachos, etc and follow the 80/20 rule for the most part. I am far from perfect but if you have similar views or just want to learn a bit more, feel free to check out this page as well as my instagram for helpful tips I pick up on the way. I am always learning and evolving my fitness journey and am far from perfect, but I hope you find something good from it. I want to make it easy, enjoyable, and fun to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
I’ll try to keep my posts short, like my five foot self, and sweet! I also promise not to write a novel when providing a recipe so you can get right to it 🙂
Cheers to travel and wellness,
Lindz
